Often in life we are faced with decisions about what we should and shouldn’t do. Or what we could or couldn’t do if… Do you live your life in the “…” I often ask what is it that makes people not go after what they want. It has to be fear right? I think it could be that with a little something else. I think it’s the fear of others that prevent us from making moves and taking action.
Think about that for a minute. Almost everything most people think about doing they run past a person they trust or care about to find out what they think about it and to give you feedback. Although you may not be actively seeking the feedback you have to know you’re going to hear what they think. Most people hope their friends or loved ones would give them words of encouragement and support, but often people can only see the world the way they see it and with their own limitations in tow.
People often only see you as they see themselves and unfortunately that may be limiting to you.
So what’s the answer? Well I’m not sure it’s that simple really. I can only share what I have tried to do in this situation and still struggle to do. If you are going to get advice or talk to people about what you are thinking about doing or something you are going to pursue talk to people that are doing what you want to do and not people that have never done what you want to do.
I leave you with these words I share with a close friend. “Life is made for living, and you can’t do that from the side line” Followed by “So stop being a little punk and pull your self together and do it” Much laughing happened after that statement.
